Slow and spacious, with long sustained notes and ties that build a five-part closer to organ than harpsichord. The whole prelude grows from a turn figure and groups of four descending notes. The of the opening in V is prepared by a in A minor and a of just three left-hand quavers. Listen for clear voice-leading, which holds the long lines together.
