The (A) begins in B minor: a 16- melody, then a spirited eight- idea, both repeated with small variations. Then the (B) brightens to B major with one eight- tune, heard twice, followed by 16 that steer the music back to B minor. The opening (A′). Some editions, such as Fontana's, add one more of it at the very end.
