A strong, memorable melody in F-sharp minor opens the piece (A), carried along by the fast rhythm of the oberek. The is more joyful than the first. In the central section (B) the left hand slides through descending chords (chords that move by semitones) that seem to go their own way beneath the singing right hand. The opening as A′, and the rounds off the piece.

  1. A
  2. B

Section boundaries in music are not always sharp; a transition may be felt over a pause or a held chord.
