The simple melody (A), marked e (plain and calm), floats over a left hand that falls in triplets. In the B section the music turns to F minor and speeds up. It is marked (with fire), and the right hand plays in double notes, two at a , which is technically demanding. In A′ the opening almost unchanged, marked sotto voce (in a hushed tone). Two simple arpeggios end the piece.

  2. B /

Section boundaries in music are not always sharp; a transition may be felt over a pause or a held chord.
