A light, skipping melody (A) opens the piece and is repeated with more decoration. In section B a smoother, singing tune appears in F-sharp major, and the opening material (A) . After a hushed, dreamlike rising figure, the stormy (C) bursts in, in B minor, with a melody and in the right hand over rolling left-hand arpeggios.
