A slow, songlike piece in D minor. As in Field's generally, the right hand sings a calm melody over broad broken chords in the left. The main melody (A) opens the piece, and a contrasting section (B) follows. A short prepares the of the opening melody, which closes the piece.

  1. A
  2. B

Section boundaries in music are not always sharp; a transition may be felt over a pause or a held chord.
