Symphony Atlas

Genre

Solo instrument

This page covers music for one instrument other than a keyboard, played with no accompaniment: violin, cello, flute or guitar on its own. A violin or cello mostly plays one line, so harmony has to be suggested: chords are spread out as quick arpeggios, two strings are bowed at once (double stops), and a melody jumps between a low part and a high one so that the ear hears two voices.
