Follow all 3 sections as they play
Chôro típico brasileiro0:02–3:37
The piece is in E minor and opens in the traditional manner, with a three-note gesture held under fermatas (pauses) and a four- before the main tune (A) settles in. Because the plan is A B A C A, that tune keeps returning between contrasting episodes, B and then C. The patterns and figurations imitate improvising street players, and the writing stays simple and direct.
- A
- B
Section boundaries in music are not always sharp; a transition may be felt over a pause or a held chord.
