A driving D minor . Fast repeated notes power the opening idea A, and the hands cross over each other in the virtuoso passagework. The first half presents four ideas in turn: and D. The second half begins with a varied version of A, then brings back the material of C and D. Spanish dance rhythms, syncopations and trills add colour.
