This guide follows Janáček’s Sinfonietta (1926) in five parts: Allegretto (Fanfare), Andante (Hrad / The Castle), Moderato (Královnin klášter / The Queen's Monastery) (theme and variations), Allegretto (Ulice / The Street) (theme and variations) and Andante con moto (Radnice / The Town Hall).

Follow all 31 sections as they play
A for brass and percussion alone, with no strings or woodwinds. The extra trumpets and tenor tubas give it a bold, heroic sound. Its opening (A) is the idea from which later movements grow. Contrasting ideas follow (B and C), and the last of them in altered form (C′).
Section boundaries in music are not always sharp; a transition may be felt over a pause or a held chord.
