IReflets dans l'eau0:02–5:04
In D flat major, this piece shows light playing on water with wave-like arpeggios, held bass notes, staccato and glissando, moving from near stillness to fast, glittering motion and back. The opening eight- (A) is soon interrupted by chords, as if pebbles had been thrown into the pool. A leads to the B idea, the opening (A′), and after a second B comes back (B′). Then the begins.

Section boundaries in music are not always sharp; a transition may be felt over a pause or a held chord.
